Equity, diversity, and inclusion
The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism (DEIAR) Student Advisor provides one-on-one advising, guidance, advocacy, and mental health resources to various equity-deserving groups, including students of colour and members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
The DEIAR Student Advisor also acts as a resource for the Mount Allison community. Working with key members of the community on educational initiatives related to diversity, equity, and inclusion and the promotion of anti-racist and decolonial practices.

Indigenous Affairs
The Indigenous Student Advisor provides support to Indigenous students throughout their academic journey.
The Indigenous Student Advisor also plays a crucial role in advancing the University’s Indigenous education principles, in line with Truth and Reconciliation Commission directives.
They collaborate with Indigenous students, community members, and campus stakeholders to develop and implement programs supporting Indigenous students while engaging non-Indigenous peers.

The International Centre
The International Centre facilitates multicultural programming on campus, including services and events that foster the growth of a more multicultural and internationally-engaged campus.
The International Centre also supports international students, both socially and academically. Our International Orientation gives international students the opportunity to get settled on campus before general University Orientation begins.

Positive Spaces
Mount Allison strives to be a safe, respectful, and welcoming place for people of all genders, diverse sexualities, gender identities, and gender expressions through education, programming, support, and advocacy.
Education is offered to the entire Mount Allison community through staff training, student orientation, and residence programming.
Ongoing efforts to create more positive spaces on campus include the addition of single-user washrooms in buildings around campus, including residences.

Spiritual Care
Spiritual Care at Mount Allison has a place for everyone, for students of all spiritual, religious, and philosophical paths — for all faiths and no faiths.
Our Multi-Faith Chaplain and Spiritual Care Co-ordinator works with students and departments across campus on programming and initiatives focused on spiritual health and support, and oversees operations of the University Chapel.

The Meighen Centre
Mount Allison’s Meighen Centre provides accessibility support to students with disabilities and medical conditions, whether permanent or temporary. Students registered with the Meighen Centre may receive academic and/or campus accommodations.
The Centre works with faculty on implementing Universal Design for Learning principles, provides Mental Health First Aid training and occasionally conducts research to study a variety of topics that affect young adults.

Anti-Racism Education and Response Team
The University’s Anti-Racism Education and Response Team is an assembly of staff, faculty, and student representatives who are formally tasked with receiving and responding to disclosures and/or complaints of racism or racial harassment.

Atlantic Promise Scholars initiative
In 2021, eleven Atlantic Canadian universities, including °®¶¹´«Ã½app, and Atlantic Business Magazine announced a new partnership with a goal of making the region’s universities and business community more inclusive.
The Atlantic Promise Scholars initiative is increasing diversity in business schools by offering Black and Indigenous students financial aid and other supports to ensure their success.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Undergraduate Certificate
Our Certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion examines how the principles of equity can be effectively incorporated into policies and practices to help achieve fair, inclusive, and respectful treatment of all people and reviews historical and contemporary injustices and disadvantages that particular groups face.
